Matt Greenberg

The left brain · Horror, on the page

Matt Greenberg has spent three decades in Hollywood writing the horror you grew up with. Jamie Lee Curtis survived Halloween H20: 20 Years Later on his pages. John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson checked into room 1408 — the Stephen King adaptation that turned a hotel room into a haunted house with no ghosts, only dread. Pet Sematary (2019) brought King's darkest novel back to the screen with his story credit, and Reign of Fire, Mimic and The Prophecy II all carry his name.

His television work includes Masters of Horror and The Fair Haired Child, and his earlier credits run through Children of the Corn III, Seventh Son and Mercy. Across film and television he has pitched the futures of entire horror franchises and helped launch whole new subgenres of fear.

Matt is the leader of the Slasher Brothers — the Moe of the operation — and the creative left side of the brain: where the dread is born, one script at a time. His love of the horror industry is the engine behind CRYPT, the Horror Stock Exchange — three decades of instinct about what scares people, turned into a live market for horror attention.
